About Chef Viva
Hello, my name is Viva!
I was born in the island of Kefalonia in a small village called Karousata. I have three children and three beautiful grandchildren. I moved to America in New York with my parents in 1968, when I was five years old. I first developed my enthusiasm for cooking. My father was a chef and he influenced me to go to culinary school and follow my dream. One of the first things I learned to make was bread by my father. I went to School to develop these skills and gained experience and qualifications which set me on the road to be able to open my own eating establishments. One was a coffee shop called “moms restaurant” and the second one “Bell Vista” which was very successful for me. I came back to the island of Kefalonia and decided to go into retail for 6 years, selling cheeses at the lock Greek super market, but my ambition was to be able to have my own business producing good meals to serve to clients using fresh local ingredients. I am passionate about food. It has been a big part of my life. I was able to achieve this dream in 2007 and “Viva your personal Chef” was established. I spend a lot of time choosing the right menu and the love to surprise and delight my guests. My cuisine is mainly Mediterranean but I also cook international cooking.
